The Israelites are ready to cross Jordan and invade Canaan. The last time they were here, they gave up and went back into the wilderness for 40 years. How will they handle it this time?
The river is at flood stage. And God instructs the priests to get to the front of the line, carrying the ark, and step into the mud. As soon as their toes touch the water, God stops the flow and dries up the ground. Instantly.
The woman prepared to make a last loaf of bread for her son and herself before she faced certain death due to a famine in the land. (Elisha) instructed her to make a loaf for him first. She did so and the oil and flour never ran out until the famine was over.
Imposssible? Not with God.
Throughout scripture, God gave instructions that required obedience before the blessings came to overcome the impossible.
I have mostly linked the impossible to something I wanted God to do for me, a healing, a monetary benefit, a new provision. What about when the impossible is what God asks of me?
When He asks me to forgive. To witness to the bully. To serve my family over and over and over. To give of my time, energy and resources when I’m at the bottom of the barrel and by all logic I need that resource to survive. To do the right thing when the right thing will most likely get me into trouble of some earthly nature.
It takes the first step. Stick your toe in the water. Make the loaf of bread. Stand up for the weak. And watch God deliver on your behalf.
Have you ever experienced the impossible deliverance of God? Is there a step of obedience you need to take to see that deliverance?
Oh, Praise God, I have stepped into the water, followed where HE led me outside of my comfort zone, and OH THE JOY OF HIS BLESSINGS!!! His blessings went above and beyond my wildest imagination when I trusted & obeyed Him.
It's wonderful to hear your reports and see how God is moving in your life. He is GOOD!
I have found this to be very true! And it is always more than worth it to have taken that step into the water! He is so amazing!
