Unexpected Harvest

Basil

There is nothing quite so delightful as going out to your garden and discovering a full crop. Especially when you haven’t done a thing all year. (You gotta love perennials).

Rosemary
I had decided not to plant a garden this year and from the porch my little patch looked like it contained a crop of weeds, but on closer inspection I discovered spearmint, basil, rosemary, thyme, and chives.
In previous years I had worked the soil and planted the seed. And though forgotten, the roots would not be denied their growth.
Thyme
God sometimes gives us unexpected harvests in our lives. A kind word when needed. More back than you gave. Provision through surprising sources. More help than you asked for. Open doors you didn’t knock on.
Blackberries
The seeds we have planted in our lives: the word of God, faithfulness to His teaching, walking by the spirit, loving and serving others, worshiping our creator, will not be denied their growth. God is after all, a rewarder of those who seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).
Chives
Have you ever experienced God’s unexpected harvest in your life?

  1. It is always a delightful surprise when something like this pops up, isn't it? Sort of the "abundant" part of abundant life.
